Grandpa Marty and Terri Visit

December 4, 2013 Wednesday

Dad and Terri got into town so we headed to the airport shortly after their arrival. Beau received his next dose of the Synagis vaccine today so he was a very sleepy boy!  They both got to listen to his unique heart beat!

December 5, 2013 Thursday

Beau took his car seat challenge for the first time last night and did not pass because he was having drops in his stats. We are prepping to hopefully go home in the next few days so we got some pictures with people who have played a vital role in Beau's hospital life!  I also was taught how to put in Beau's NG tube so he had a clean face for a few photo opportunity moments today!  Beau received his 2 month vaccines today as well.

Dr. Steele - Beau's Pediatrition                        Beau's NICU nurse, Leah
Dr. Alderson, Beau's Pediatric Cardiologist,  he really DOES like her, though you wouldn't know in the picture!

December 6, 2013 Friday

Beau tried his carseat challenge again overnight and didn't pass it because he had a drop in his heart rate three times. The doctors think it was because he was on continuous feeds so they next time they try it will be between feeds when he isn't trying to digest as much.  He also spiked a temp around midnight that they believe was due to his vaccinations but with some Tylenol it quickly went back down.Beau has horrific amount of tape on his face... I can't wait to get him home and tape him myself!! He was more down and out again today from his vaccines yesterday showing some desats and lower stats in general.  They will run another hemaglobin and hematocrit test to check his levels before going home.

 December 7, 2013 Saturday

Beau took his car seat challenge for the third time tonight and PASSED!!!  One step closer to HOME!!!  Nurse Leah took this picture and sent it to me with the caption. "This is how Beau feels about his car seat!"

 December 8, 2013  Sunday

The nurses were finally able to get blood to test the H&H levels.  His hematocrit was 43.4 and hemaglobin was at 14.7 which means he is holding strong from his last blood transfusion!!  woohoo!  Beau wore big boy shoes for the first time today because tomorrow is the BIG DAY!
