Daddy to the ship = Nana comes to visit

At the beginning of September we found out that Andrew was going on the ship for just shy of two weeks at the end of September so Nana was such a blessing and came to watch Beau!! It was pretty short notice and with me finally being back at work, we needed full time care daily (we usually only need Jennifer to watch Beau for an hour and a half each day)!

I dropped Andrew at the ship on Monday night and Nana arrived on Tuesday afternoon!

On Saturday, Sept. 27, we went to the NICU reunion.  Each year, the hospital puts on a picnic for all the babies who have graduated from the NICU the past year.  We were so excited to go and see some of the nurses who cared for Beau after his birth. Our friends Laura and Isaac got to join in the fun too because he spent 2 weeks in the NICU after birth, too!

 Balloon hat!  Beau didn't exactly love it.  This photo was shot right before he fell back and popped the balloon with his head!  You can imagine his reaction!

On Sunday, Sept.28, we went to the Neptune Festival down at the beach and got to enjoy amazing sand sculptures and some time in the sun too!

They had fun together and successfully grocery shopped a few times!! :)

Time with Auntie J and Grammy

The weekend following Beau's birthday, Grammy flew into town.  Auntie J is moving back to Minnesota after spending 9 months with our family.  We originally planned on J watching Beau when I returned to work after my maternity leave.  With Beau spending so much time in/at the hospital, we weren't able to utilize her as we had hoped.  So after much prayer, we decided to let her move back home and trust the Lord to provide me a job and daycare for Beau. So Grammy got to spend a couple days here before driving back to MN with Auntie J.

September 19, 2014
Grammy Sue arrived on Friday evening and got her snuggles on! Coincidentally this was the SAME day one year ago that she got to hold Beau for the first time!!! So special :)

Saturday, September 20th 
We spent the day at the Botanical Gardens in Norfolk. I had never been and I wasn't sure what type of blooms they would have this late in the season but I was pleasantly surprised!!  The weather was BEAUtiful and perfect for photographs. :)

We went to the Naval Station Oceana Air Show.  Well.... within a half hour of being there, Beau was screaming and hot so Andrew took him to the air conditioned car while we got to watch the Blue Angels. We left early knowing they were waiting for us so our afternoon didn't turn out quite like we imagined.
